Pangbourne
Project.
Set in the beautiful West Berkshire village of Pangbourne, this property underwent an extensive renovation to create a modern and luxurious family dwelling. The house was taken back to its bare bones and redesigned to offer spacious, open plan living, whilst maintaining purposeful, defined areas within the home that function to facilitate everything family life has to offer.
The client was keen to create a charming, yet unfussy feel to the interiors and by layering natural materials, textures and muted tones within the scheme, we were able to achieve this in this main living area. An appreciation to the rolling countryside which surrounds the home, was also kept at the forefront of the design.
Full length curtains with a pretty cottage style header and three roman blinds set into the bay window, worked to accentuate the height of the ceiling and make a wonderful feature and focal point in the room. We chose two linens in subtle and complementary tones to work across all windows. Pairing blinds and curtains provides the ultimate window dressing, both aesthetically and functionally throughout the seasons, accommodating light and temperature change.
The two fabrics were also used to create a further three blinds with contrasting borders to add interest and frame the outlook onto the gardens. These were set into the window reveals, maintaining a clean and seamless look and highlighting what is the most joyful, light and airy space.
